Understand Voting Eligibility

An association member is not automatically eligible for every governance item. The organizer chooses an audience, and Asovex checks whether your account is included before enabling a ballot.

Audience choices

The editor offers All members, Executives only, Committee members, and Selected members. The selected-members choice lets the organizer pick specific people. The current voting list uses active association accounts and the chosen audience to decide which members can participate. Managers can still review governance items that they manage, but management access by itself does not make an account an eligible voter.
The editor also displays Active membership, Attendance requirement, Dues compliance, and Branch eligibility settings. Attendance, dues, and branch controls are labeled as future-ready in the current editor. Do not assume that turning one on changes who can cast a ballot. If your association needs those qualifications, ask the organizer to confirm the eligible audience before publishing. For meeting context, see understand meeting attendance.

When you cannot vote

Open Governance Details and check the status, start and end times, and eligibility summary. A draft is for managers; a scheduled vote is not open yet; a closed, archived, or cancelled item no longer accepts submissions. If the item is active but says you are not eligible, ask an Association Admin or organizer to check your account status and the chosen audience. Voting access troubleshooting gives a short checklist.
