Understand Document and Live Chat Privacy

Documents and Live Chat both operate within the current association, but they serve different purposes. The Documents library shares association files with supported association roles. Live Chat provides a direct conversation between two association users.

Document access

Members, Association Admins, Secretaries, and Treasurers can open the Documents library. Association Admins, Secretaries, and Treasurers have an upload entry point. Edit and delete controls for an uploaded document belong to its uploader, so library access does not allow every viewer to change every file.
Confirm the association and intended audience before uploading. Opening or downloading a library file creates a copy outside the app that you are responsible for handling appropriately. See Documents and Projects access for role-specific details.

Direct Live Chat

Live Chat lists active users from the same association and opens a direct conversation with the selected member. Messages can include text, images, files, and voice notes. Treat attachments and voice notes as shared conversation content and verify the recipient before sending.
Clear Chat removes the messages from the open conversation after confirmation, and the current interface provides no restore control. Do not interpret that action as a promise about backups, previously downloaded attachments, or copies a recipient may already have.
For conversation behavior and unread status, use manage Live Chat conversations.
