Send and Receive Chat Messages

Use an open Live Chat conversation to exchange direct text messages with another association member.

Send a text message

  1. Open the conversation.
  2. Select the message field and enter your text.
  3. Select the send icon, or use the keyboard's send action where available.
Blank messages are not sent. A new message appears in the conversation while Asovex submits it. Its indicator changes when sending succeeds, and an error indicator can appear if sending fails.

Follow the conversation

Messages appear from oldest to newest, with the latest content at the bottom. Date dividers identify Today, Yesterday, or an earlier calendar date. Each message shows a local time.
While you remain connected to the conversation, incoming messages can appear on the open screen and the view moves to the latest message. The header can temporarily show Typing... when the other member is entering text. Connection interruptions can delay these updates, so do not treat the typing label or arrival time as guaranteed delivery.
Outgoing message indicators distinguish a sent message from one the other member has read. Opening a conversation marks unread messages addressed to that member as read. Conversation-level unread counts are explained in manage conversations and unread messages.
Live Chat does not currently provide documented controls for editing, replying to, reacting to, forwarding, or searching within individual messages.
