Manage Candidates in a Leadership Election
A Leadership Election uses candidate cards instead of the option list used by other governance items. An authorized organizer adds candidates while creating or editing the election.Build the candidate list
In Create Governance Item, choose Leadership Election as the type. In Ballot structure, choose an Election method and use Add candidate for each person. The candidate editor has fields for a name, position or office, short bio, and manifesto or statement. Give each candidate a distinct, recognizable name and review the details before publishing. You can remove a candidate in the editor. At least one candidate is required to save the item. The election methods shown by the editor include Single winner, Multiple winners, Ranked choice, and Top N winners. The member ballot's available selection behavior depends on the configured method. Before publishing, use Governance Details and Final review to confirm that candidates, timing, and audience match the association's decision process.
Members can read candidate information and select from the candidates shown on the ballot while voting is open. Cast or update your vote explains the submission step. Candidate totals and any leading outcome appear only when result visibility allows viewing.
